Lo-fi Wireframe
The Problem
First Service Credit Union consolidated three checking accounts into one daily cash back account. However, the app lacked a way for members to track their accumulated cash back, reducing the perceived value of the feature. Additionally, the goal was to create an appealing product for both current members and non-members.
Key Problems to Solve:
How to effectively display the cash back earned to enhance member engagement and perception of value.
What features can be integrated to attract non-members to the daily cash back account?
How can the business goals set by leadership be balanced with the members' need for usability and simplicity in the design?

The Constraints
The app was developed by a third-party vendor, limiting customization. We couldn't display the custom cash back feature prominently on the main page or create a supporting widget. Additionally, we had to integrate "Power Up," a $9/month optional add-on, on the same page, which further complicated the layout. With tight project timelines, usability testing was thorough for the prototype but limited once the product was live. Balancing leadership’s goals (from the CEO and COO) with a focus on usability, simplicity, and ease of use was essential. Lastly, late-stage changes, such as adding the option for members to choose where their nightly cash back was deposited, increased the project’s complexity.
